Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10K (3) Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10K (2) Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10K (1)
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10K DSLR camera comes with a Leica D Vario-Elmar 14-50mm lens, combining the power of precision optics with electronic assistance to give you amazing results! The DMC-L10K's 10.1MP sensor gives you photos that retain their true colors and clarity, even when enlarged. The MEGA O.I.S. optical image stabilizer assures you of blur-free photos, even on unstable ground or windy conditions.

With conventional digital SLR cameras, you never know exactly how the photo is composed until after you shoot. The Lumix DMC-L10 changes all that with full-time Live View. When you look at the LCD screen, you see what the camera sees, making it easy to adjust and compose your shot just the way you want it.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10K user reviews

""Also having a Canon Rebel, I purchased the Lumix to have a second, more compact "easy" camera for taking quick snapshots of the kids and when we're out and about and don't want a bulky SLR with us. So far I've really enjoyed it and I LOVE the movie mode! I've become quite the movie enthusiast, and upload my movies to Google Video now for easy sharing. Lumix shoots great movies, though the file sizes are HUGE (runs about 100 MB for a minute and a half movie!). All in all, this is a good camera at a great price. Very pleased.

"I have to give this camera 5 stars because for my purposes it is perfect. Panasonic are one of the few manufacturers that make wide angle compacts...I can count on one hand the number of cameras currently available that go wider than 28mm, and to find one as tiny as this is amazing....the only other that I can think of is the Ricoh GX100, which is bigger and more expensive.

The lens is excellent...it is sharp, the lack of distortion at wide angle is impressive, there is no real purple fringing and the vignetting is also minimal (darkening at the edges that occours with most lenses)...amazing really

I only really use this camera in good light and the results are excellent...some say the sensor is noisy in low light (grainy images)...but in the conditions that I use this camera I have had nothing but great results, with great punchy colours (using the VIVID setting) and loads of detail...but I am a wide angle shooter, and that is where this tiny little gem is at its best
The size of this camera is just amazing, its smaller than a pack of cards...good battery life...great menus...auto everything if you want it, with an intellegent auto mode...or a mode that allows control over ISO, exposure EV, colour saturation, white balance, and loads of other stuff, I think the menus are brilliant...I am now a Panasonic fan, I had previously overlooked this manufacturer

Build is lovely....so for a tiny high resolution wide angle camera, how can I give it less than 5 stars ?...there is very little else available that compares....brilliant "

""I purchased the F10 Lumix last month as a replacement to previous Lumix that was stolen from my car. I didn't think Panasonic could improve on my earlier camera, but they did! The F10 is an awesome camera that can't take a bad picture. I may not use all the options that come along with the F10, but it definitely lives up to its Brand Name reputation."

"Pros: Excellent photo quality with the kit lens; flip and twist LCD screen; easy to use pre-set "scene modes" and "film mode"

Cons: A lot of noise from ISO 800 onwards; lack of wide angle lenses in the Four Thirds System; Satisfactory photo quality under low light; Expensive.

Summary: At first look the L10K might seem a rather "cheaper" access to Leica, given that the L1 and the Digilux 3 are clearly overpriced.

Indeed, this camera performs very well with adequate light, and although it doesn't really live up to the standards of a true Leica, it does give excellent results for an entry level DSLR.

But mind you, being an excellent entry level DSLR does not make it a good camera - with a nearly unacceptable amount of noise from ISO 800 onwards and extremely inaccurate colours when shooting under low light, the 1300 dollar price tag seems unreasonable.

I advice all who are deciding whether to buy a L10K or not, not to be fooled by the word "Leica".

This camera is all about the optics - and more importantly, its optics ain't as good as it seems.

No Leica, No Speed, No Quality, No Great Body.

With the four big weaknesses I do not think this camera is ideal for a lot of people. Its existence is plainly to provide a more rugged entry level camera for the Four Thirds System - and quite frankly, it failed. "

"The camera’s good live liew option offers functionality similar to the Nikon D300’s. With live view, you can use the LCD as a viewfinder to frame shots; you choose between a normal autofocus mode that temporarily disables the LCD, or a contrast-detecting autofocus mode that doesn’t disable the LCD at all but is slow and doesn’t work with most Four Thirds lenses.
