"I used to own the Canon EOS 300 35mm SLR and was hugely impressed with the results. Equally I used to own a basic Sony CyberShot digital camera, which for the cost gave good results. However I always wanted the ability to merge the functionality of both together yet a digital SLR always seems out of price range. That was until Canon launched the 300D, I am amazed at the quality, range of features and low price of this camera. This camera gives amazing results and is very intuative - I have learnt to use it mostly without the help of the instruction manual! I highly recommend this camera to anyone serious about photography but is on a budget (espcially if you own any other Canon SLR as all the lens and assesories are compatible!) "

"And I love it. Since then Nikon have brought out the D70 which has had even better reviews but costs nearly half again. You have to draw the line somewhere and the 300d is a great piece of kit and I think good value for money. Canon have also brought out some more EF-S lenses including a 10-22mm. If you visit the Canon UK site before end Jan 2005 you can get cashback after your purchase. "

"I am a longstanding 35mm SLR photographer who wanted to go digital but wanted the speed and control of an SLR. With the EOS 300D I still can use my EOS lens and switch from B&W film in my old 35mm camera and digital in the 300D.
The functionality is exactly as one should expect from a good prosumer SLR and it delivers fast burst mode shooting. I didn't want a digital camera until I could shoot 3-5 shots in fast succession and with the 300D I can. "

"The Canon EOS 300D Digital Rebel is low-priced and easy to operate. I bought the body for $350 and the 1.8 50mm lens for $80. Within moments of turning it on I was taking fantastic photos. The flash is strong (see photos). "

"I sold my Canon D30 in favor of this more modern and lighter 300D. It's got 6.3MP compared to the 3.3MP I had with my Canon D30. I picked up my Digital Rebel for roughly $327 lightly used. NOT A SCRATCH!!! I'm in love with this camera. It does what I need it to do. Photos are coming out in vivid kindness, even with my econo lenses. It's very light compared to my Canon D30. Yes, it's "plastic", but the build quality is sold and you wont even complain about it.
The only reason I mentioned that it's almost perfect is due to the 1.8" LCD. I wish Canon EOS 300D had the 2.5" LCD like the Rebel XTi. But I'll say this.. the 1.8" LCD is way more bright when compared to the early Canon 1.8" screens. So pound for pound, this camera is a jewel to sparkle. If you land a great deal like I did. You won't regret it. "
